this guy is good...

Watch the very talented Jim Meskimen do various celebrity impressions while reciting Clarence's speech from William Shakespeare's Richard III. He does everyone from George Clooney to Woody Allen to Morgan Freeman. Pretty impressive... or should I say "jimpressive?" Okay, bad joke.

How Much is Your Twitter Account Worth?

Unlike mine, which I only update every-so-often, your Twitter account could be worth millions...

Here's to the After-Hours Athlete

Okay seriously, why does every line of copy in this ad for Puma Social give me goosebumps? Thank you Droga5... this ad is simply amazing. If we were playing ping pong at a bar right now, I'd buy you a beer.

Real Life Photoshop

This ad for Adobe Photoshop might be the coolest thing I've seen in a while. It uses real objects - cardboard, paint, paper, etc. - to symbolize the various elements and tools of the design program. It's taking this high-tech digital software back to the basics. I also think that this is simply a beautiful art installation in its own right. Check out the creation of this ad here.

The Music Never Stops

How cool is this commercial for MTV Brazil? It uses stop-motion but essentially it's just a throwback to an old favorite - the flip book. Dilcidio Caldeira from ParanoidBR, who produced the work, tells a story using images drawn on hundreds of balloons which are then popped by a device with a camera mounted on a dolly which travels at a speed fast enough to pop and film 10 balloons each second. So cool!

TRUCK

I would love to buy some pieces of furniture from TRUCK. Found via Anthology Magazine, it's no surprise that this unique line of minimalist, industrial-inspired furniture stems from one of the most design savvy countries in the world -- Japan. My only concern is that the entire website is written in Japanese. I've looked up the exchange rates for the two different currencies but hesitate making such a big purchase without being able to read the fine print. But these pieces are EXACTLY what I've been looking for. Do you think they'd send a Rosetta Stone along with a copy of the catalog? Okay, maybe not. If anyone knows of a similar company that might be easier to order from, please let me know!

Happy 5th of July!

It's Tuesday and I'm still recovering from a fun-filled Fourth of July weekend. I had Friday and Monday off from work so the past four days have been spent laying around by the pool, playing with the pups, hanging out with friends and eating good food. However, due to a thunderstorm last night, I missed out on the most important part of our great country's birthday... fireworks! Good news however, the big fireworks displays in Richmond have been rescheduled for tonight. So it looks like my four-day bender has just turned into five days of exciting celebration. Happy Belated Birthday America!
