Apple Ads: Always Awesome

I just saw a new iPhone commercial that introduces the new relationship with Verizon.
"Verizon iPhone is Coming"

It kind of reminded me of the original iPhone commercial.
"Hello"

Monday Morning Messy Hair

It's just one of those days...
But today, I'm going to embrace the disheveled look and just go with it.

Dirty Richmond

So I'm completely enthralled with this Tumblr Blog called Dirty Richmond. It reminds me of The Sartorialist except with the edgy, raw, diverse fashion of RVA. No models. Just people... just average folks in all their individualized glory. I love it! And I'm secretly hoping to find someone I know on there.

Score!

Check out these two amazing antique furniture finds that I had the luxury of purchasing today. The first is this old, distressed farm table with a set of two chairs (minus the birdcage contraption.) The second is a painted black vanity that can also be used as a desk (I haven't decided what I want to do with it yet.)

This week, The West End Antique Mall in Richmond was filled with some awesome pieces. But I'm also dying to check out Alexander's Auction (every Thursday on Midlothian), Patterson Antiques, Blue Elephant Antiques and Class and Trash. So if anyone is interested in doing a little antiquing sometime soon, let me know!

Farewell Paperie

Farewell Paperie is the brainchild and beautifully crafted stationary line that two of my friends/fellow ad gals came up with a few years ago. I really admire their drive, and well their entrepreneurial skills, but also the mesh of their two personalities. From conception to design to color-paletting to sewing, Lisa and Jen completely collaborate on each piece together, even though they live on opposite sides of the country! They're constantly sending ideas back and fourth, while drawing from the inspirations around them. Their line includes wedding & shower invitations, announcements and more. Plus, they have a wide range of styles, so no two pieces look exactly the same. Check out their site or their blog, Paper Relish, or their Etsy shop to see what they have to offer.

Now, I just need an event that requires invitations. : )

Still Sound Remix Contest

Attention music producers/sound designers/Garage Band gurus everywhere. Toro y Moi is holding a contest for the best remix of his hit, and a personal fav, Still Sound. Sounds pretty cool, can't wait to hear some of the submissions.

The cosmos have turned my world upside down.

So my birthday is coming up in a few weeks and there's something a I really didn't expect to get this year... a new zodiac sign. That's right. Astronomers have claimed to have found a 13th constellation, a new sign on the Zodiac Calendar called Ophiuchus. As a result of the additional sign, all dates on the Zodiac Calendar shifted, causing many people's astrology signs to change.

And apparently, this devout Aquarius is now a Capricorn. When I heard the news, I immediately read over the Capricorn personality traits, only to find very few I could relate to. As an Aquarius, I was cool, calm and creative. Now, as a Capricorn, I'm rigid, controlling and determined. And although the latter also claimed to be "very organized" (which I am), I still believe I'm a true Aquarius at heart. What do you think? Did your sign change? If so, are you happy with the shift? Or do you think this Zodiac controversy is a just huge PR stunt? I'd love to hear what your opinion.

NEW ZODIAC SIGN CHART

Where to?

If you had just 30 words to sum up everything you feel when you've set off on a new adventure, what would you say?

If you have a story about adventure, letting go, going, coming, or seeking to find what's out there, submit an entry for Anthropologie's Postcard Contest. Who knows, you might be one of three lucky winners to receive a $500 Anthro Gift Card. If not, you can at least spend a few minutes of your day dreaming about your next getaway, wherever, or whatever it might be.
